The High Court's ruling against the government's decision to close the Galei Tzahal radio station sparked a surprising reaction this Thursday on the weekend news edition. "I am pleased with the High Court's decision," said the program's host, Noam Amir, with irony.

"Read what is written in the verdict: The High Court does not allow the station to be closed for political reasons. Since the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, and the Minister of Communications proposed in advance that they wanted to close Galei Tzahal, they cannot do so now."

Amir explained that, in his opinion, the ruling might also affect future attempts to close Channel 14: "It reminds me of all sorts of Yair Golans and Yair Lapids who proposed closing Channel 14. According to the High Court's ruling, it turns out that they will also be forbidden from doing so."
