War on tax debtors intensifies: Tax Authority seizes 17 luxury vehicles
VAT and Income Tax offices in Haifa led an extensive joint enforcement operation with the Israel Police, resulting in the seizure of 17 luxury vehicles due to debts totaling approximately 16 million shekels.
The Israel Tax Authority is intensifying its efforts against tax debtors who refuse to settle their obligations. On Sunday, officers from the Coastal District of the Israel Police, based at the Baqa al-Gharbiyye station, joined forces with the Northern Enforcement Unit of the Israel Tax Authority and the 'Romach' unit to conduct a coordinated enforcement operation in Baqa al-Gharbiyye. This initiative is part of a broader campaign to combat economic crimes and strengthen governance regarding debt collection for the Haifa VAT and Income Tax offices.
During the operation, authorities located and seized 17 luxury vehicles linked to debts totaling approximately 16 million shekels. The vehicles were transferred to the Tax Authority for further processing in accordance with its legal mandate.
Following the operation, the Israel Police stated: "The Israel Police will continue to act in cooperation with all enforcement agencies to fight economic crimes, strengthen the rule of law, and maintain public order."
