Today we know her well from the stormy discussions in the Knesset and her extensive parliamentary activity, but the path of Knesset member Merav Ben-Ari to public life began with a reality show back in 2005.

In an episode of the podcast "On the Way to Perfection" (Be-derech le-shlemut), hosted by Maya Gasman and Linoy Ben-Moshe Simo, Ben-Ari spoke about the separation from her partner and the difficulty of meeting men, and of course, she addressed the upcoming election campaign.

Beyond the political discourse that took place on the podcast, Ben-Ari shared a bit of her personal world and said that her last relationship lasted three years and ended about a year ago:

"We broke up exactly in August. I have been single for a year now. It constantly interests people, my single status interests people."

Alongside this, she did not hesitate to admit that she sees herself entering a relationship again, but emphasized that she does not plan to get married. "Why should I get married? There is no need for a wedding, it never interested me. As a child, I never dreamed of that thing with a white dress. It doesn't speak to me at all. But I am in favor of a relationship, and it's funny because people don't really hit on me," she continued.

The interviewers did not miss the opportunity to find out a little about what the Knesset member is looking for in a partner: "Someone busy who has a life, and has a family and friends, and has children." Ben-Ari was asked if she thinks her public status deters men, and she admitted:

"There is no doubt that my position is intimidating, and you need someone who knows how to contain it."
