The battle for reserved spots in Likud continues: Netanyahu keeps his cards close to his chest

Against the backdrop of drama within the Likud party, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu still holds five reserved spots that he can include in the Likud list. The assessment within the party is that Netanyahu will wait until the last moment and will not necessarily use all of them.

According to the same assessment, two of these spots are intended for new names that Netanyahu wishes to bring onto the list, while he is expected to keep the remaining three spots until the very last moment.

This presents an interesting maneuver, as these reserved spots can be used not only to facilitate connections with other right-wing parties but also as a way to return to the list those "disappointed" by the primaries who were pushed out. The emerging move will not necessarily be carried out by directly reserving spots for these individuals, but simply by Netanyahu waiving the remaining reserved spots, which would lead to Knesset members automatically advancing up the list.
