Kuti Sabag Slams Influencer Over Yom Kippur Food Video

Reality TV star Kuti Sabag, who first rose to fame on the show "Big Brother", is currently co-hosting a current affairs show on the Kan Gimel radio station alongside media personality Maya Batsalal. During a recent broadcast, Sabag addressed the public storm sparked by social media influencer Daniel Amit, who posted a video of herself making a toast on Instagram during the Yom Kippur fast.

The footage drew widespread reactions, including sharp criticism from Sabag. "Why be provocative? On Yom Kippur, to upload a video of all things, and about food. It is possible that all her followers are just like her and then it doesn't bother them. But what if she has religious or traditional followers? It's a poke in the eye. What you do in your home is in your home. No one will tell you what to do, and no one will judge you for it. Yom Kippur belongs to God, not to humans. Let everyone do what they want," Sabag stated.

Maya Batsalal sought to defend Amit's perspective, explaining: "She wants to give a platform to people like her. Those who don't fast, those who eat. I'm not justifying it, I'm trying to explain her point of view." Sabag disagreed with his co-host, adding: "There is no shame in not fasting on Yom Kippur. Everyone fasts for themselves, okay? Yom Kippur does not belong to anyone."

Batsalal continued to present Amit's stance: "She says there are others like her who will identify with her. There are others who don't fast, who ride bicycles, who use mobile phones." Sabag then raised a philosophical thought that occupies many minds: "On this Yom Kippur I thought about these people. One day we will all reach the heavens. There are two options. The first option is that there is nothing, the story is over. The second option is that everything we were told is true."
