MK Yitzhak Kreuzer of Otzma Yehudit was summoned for questioning by the Police Internal Investigations Department following a violent incident in Mitzpe Yeriho, where he is suspected of assaulting police officers. Kreuzer has denied the allegations, calling them a political witch hunt led by Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and Head of the Police Investigation and Intelligence Directorate Boaz Blat.

The incident occurred roughly two weeks ago following a memorial service for IDF soldiers, including Kreuzer's childhood friend. According to police, officers attempted to arrest a suspect who fled into the memorial area, leading to clashes with participants. Three officers were injured, and a police vehicle was damaged. Kreuzer claims he attempted to calm the situation but was attacked by officers who used unreasonable force and pepper spray, even after he identified himself as a member of the Knesset.

Following the incident, Attorney General Baharav-Miara authorized the police to investigate the lawmaker. The case was subsequently transferred to the Lahav 433 serious crimes unit. Kreuzer denounced the timing of the probe, pointing to the upcoming elections, while Police Commissioner Danny Levi emphasized that law enforcement will not tolerate the assault of officers regardless of their status.
