Wladimir Klitschko Files for Guardianship of Daughter After Hayden Panettiere's Death
Wladimir Klitschko has filed for guardianship of his 11-year-old daughter with the late Hayden Panettiere to protect her inheritance amid federal investigations and security concerns.
A month and a half after the tragic passing of actress Hayden Panettiere at the age of 36, her former fiancé, retired heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko, has filed a petition in a Los Angeles court. Klitschko is seeking to be appointed as the legal guardian of the estate belonging to their 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, who currently resides with him in Ukraine.
Protecting the Estate and Federal Investigation
According to official legal documents obtained by TMZ, the filing emphasizes the urgent need to manage and secure the young girl's inheritance, ensuring she receives the entirety of her late mother's assets. The necessity for swift legal action stems not only from standard estate management but also from recent developments regarding federal involvement.
Klitschko was reportedly informed that federal agents recently entered Panettieres Los Angeles home as part of an ongoing investigation, removing property belonging to the late star's estate. Prior to her passing, the former couple had retained a private security firm to safeguard the residence and its contents.
Security Concerns and Disputed Assets
Following suspicions that unauthorized individuals had gained access to the property, the security team changed the locks. Additionally, storage units containing designer clothing and red-carpet accessories were relocated as a precautionary measure amid intense media coverage surrounding her death.
Klitschko further alleged that non-family members had accessed and deleted the actress's emails, while certain high-value items, including jewelry, have reportedly vanished or remain in the custody of law enforcement authorities.

Panettiere's official cause of death was recently ruled accidental, stemming from the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office in South Carolina. Her controversial ex-partner, Brian Hickerson, was reportedly present at the time of her death, while her parents, Lesley and Skip, have reportedly become entangled in a dispute over jewelry she wore prior to passing.
