Sea of Galilee Crossing Postponed to November 2026 Over Health Ministry Directive

The organizers of the Sea of Galilee Crossing (Tzlihat HaKinneret) have announced the postponement of the event, which was originally scheduled to take place on September 19. The decision was made following an official directive from the Ministry of Health and in close consultation with professional authorities.

According to the production team, the postponement was finalized after discussions with experts, including the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research institute, which continuously monitors the ecological conditions of the Sea of Galilee. Based on these consultations, the event has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 14, 2026.

The Sea of Galilee Crossing is widely recognized as the largest community open-water swimming event in Israel. The organizers noted that by the new date in November, the water temperature is expected to align with the Ministry of Health's safety guidelines, allowing the swim to proceed safely.

All tickets already purchased will automatically remain valid for the new date, requiring no further action from the participants. Those who wish to cancel their registration can receive a full refund, provided the cancellation is processed up to one week before the rescheduled event.
