Kim Kardashian opens up about deeply personal moments, including her late father's final words and a terrifying 2018 incident in Uganda involving her ex-husband Kanye West, in a new biography titled Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future by journalist Jonathan Van Meter.
Reflecting on her father Robert Kardashian, who passed away in 2003 at the age of 59 from esophageal cancer, Kim shared the emotional final conversation they shared while watching television. She recalled that her father told her he could foresee her success, saying, 'I know you're going to be fine, I can see it. Like I can see how your whole life is going to turn out.' Alongside his comforting words, he made a special request: 'You'll be okay. But take care of others - and make sure your siblings are going to be okay,' referring to Kourtney, Khloe, and Robert Jr.
The biography also exposes a chilling, previously unpublished incident from Kim's marriage to West. The couple married in 2014 and share four children—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm—before divorcing in 2022. According to Farnaz Farjam, the executive producer of the Kardashian family's reality show, the breaking point occurred during a 2018 trip to Uganda. West, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, experienced a severe manic episode.
Farjam recounted that West convinced local police that individuals were attempting to drug him, leading armed officers to raid their accommodations. At one point, a police officer held a gun to Kim's head. The situation grew so intense that Farjam had to charter a private jet to evacuate her entire crew.
Despite the ordeal, Kim maintains a protective stance toward her ex-husband, admitting she worries about him constantly. Communication between the two has been reduced to a minimum, with Kim primarily coordinating through West's current wife, Bianca Censori, or his manager. Remarkably, Kim even hosted West and Censori for Christmas, striving to maintain a stable environment for their children while shielding them from their father's struggles.
