South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) estimates that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is suffering from severe obesity, but no signs of serious health deterioration have been identified at this stage. This was reported in South Korea following a briefing by intelligence officials to lawmakers.

According to reports, lawmakers present at the briefing stated that, based on the NIS assessment, Kim's weight is estimated to be over 140 kilograms, placing him at high risk for obesity-related health issues. However, the NIS noted that Kim continues to function normally and no significant signs of other medical problems were detected.

Assessments regarding the North Korean leader's health are closely monitored by global intelligence agencies due to the critical importance of leadership stability in the nuclear-armed nation. The South Korean intelligence service regularly tracks Kim's condition through the analysis of his public appearances and other intelligence data.
