Just a month ago, the lives of actress and businesswoman Kim Or Azulay and her husband, basketball player Yiftach Ziv, turned upside down when they welcomed their firstborn son, Dylan. Since then, Azulay has been openly sharing her experiences and adaptation to new motherhood, and now she is also highlighting the daily challenges familiar to every mother.

Embracing New Challenges in Public

In a new story posted to her Instagram account, Azulay was documented sitting in a cafe, breastfeeding her little baby. Over the image, the star added the candid caption: "Still learning to breastfeed in public."

So whether you are at home or out and about, here are 5 winning tips for correct and successful breastfeeding:

  1. Ensure a correct position: The breastfeeding position is the key to preventing pain. Make sure the baby is entirely facing you (tummy to tummy) and that their mouth is wide open, capturing a large part of the areola, not just the nipple.

  2. Drink plenty of water: Milk production requires energy and fluids from the body. Make sure to keep a water bottle handy next to you during every feeding and drink enough throughout the day to prevent dehydration.

  3. Use nursing pillows: Good support for your back and hands will prevent tension and sore muscles. A nursing pillow can elevate the baby to breast height and save unnecessary bending.

  4. Do not hesitate to ask for help: If you are experiencing pain, cracks, or latching difficulties, do not stay alone with it. Contact a certified lactation consultant who can refine the technique and make things easier for you.

  5. Trust your body: Feeding on demand is the best way to establish milk supply. Try to be attentive to the baby's hunger cues, and remember that this is a mutual and natural learning process for both of you.

Overcoming the Physical and Mental Struggle

As you may recall, just recently, in a particularly intimate and revealing story uploaded to her Instagram account, the star shared a photo from the moment she was breastfeeding her baby under a blanket, accompanied by a heartfelt text. Azulay chose to focus on the physical and mental struggle accompanying the breastfeeding process, sparing no harsh descriptions to illustrate the tumultuous experience she went through.

"If you had told me a week ago that I would manage to breastfeed again, I would have told you there's no way, I am wounded, in pain, suffering, and it won't work."

Now, it seems that persistence and strength have paid off, and she is successfully overcoming the challenge even outside the walls of home.
