Why Israeli Star Kim Or Azulay Named Her Newborn Son After a TV Character
Israeli actress and designer Kim Or Azulay revealed that she named her newborn son Dylan after a character from a childhood TV show who was destined to save the world.
Israeli actress, TV host, and fashion designer Kim Or Azulay has revealed the surprising backstory behind the name of her newborn son, born in August 2026. During an Instagram Q&A session, Azulay shared that the choice was inspired by a childhood television viewing.
"Nine-year-old Kim sat down to watch 'The Island', discovered that Dylan would save the world, and decided that was her future son's destiny," Azulay wrote, adding with a smile: "And therefore—Dylan Ziv will save the world."
'The Island' is a hit youth series that premiered in September 2009, following a group of teens who survive a global asteroid disaster. Azulay, who grew up in Rishon LeZion, married basketball player Yiftach Ziv in July 2025, and the couple has now welcomed their firstborn.
Azulay began her entertainment career as a child star in youth series and later transitioned to dramatic roles, while also serving in the IDF theater troupe. Her wedding to Ziv, who plays for Hapoel Tel Aviv, was a star-studded industry event.
