Court Dismisses Former NFL Player Matt Kalil's Lawsuit Against Ex-Wife
A US court dismissed a lawsuit filed by former NFL player Matt Kalil against his ex-wife Haley Kalil, who publicly discussed intimate details of their marriage on Twitch.
A high-profile dispute in the American sports world has reached a significant milestone as a court dismissed a lawsuit filed by former NFL player Matt Kalil against his ex-wife, model and social media star Haley Kalil, after she publicly shared intimate details about their marriage.
The controversy began in November 2025 when Haley appeared on a Twitch broadcast and spoke candidly about their sex life during nearly seven years of marriage. Among other things, she hinted that her ex-husband's anatomy was a major factor leading to the end of their relationship, claiming the intimate relations caused her severe pain at times.
Kalil, who played for teams including the Minnesota Vikings, filed a lawsuit in January arguing that the remarks brought him unwanted attention, public mockery, and violated his and his family's privacy. He claimed his ex-wife turned intimate marriage details into monetized content.
However, the court granted Haley's motion to dismiss the lawsuit in its entirety. The ruling stated that she spoke about her life, marriage, and divorce, and that the remarks touched upon experiences she personally underwent. The judge determined that given their public figures status, the topics constituted a matter of legitimate public interest.
"I am so glad this is over," Haley stated following the decision. "I never wanted to end up in court discussing personal matters from my life." She added she hopes the ruling encourages women to share their experiences: "Your story belongs to you, and you should never be afraid to share it."
Haley filed for divorce in 2022 after the couple married in 2015. The legal saga, however, is not entirely over as Kalil's attorney announced plans to appeal the decision.
