"I was in a complex relationship": Shimon Buskila responds to allegations
The singer, detained for questioning over alleged threats to his former partner, has addressed the situation publicly. "I have never harmed anyone," he stated, noting that he was released shortly after his questioning.
Following reports that he was detained for questioning on suspicion of threatening his former partner, apparently via WhatsApp messages, singer Shimon Buskila has responded to the allegations for the first time.
"It is important for me to share that I was recently part of a very complex relationship. It was loaded with ups and downs, joys and disappointments, just like anyone else's," Buskila said in a video statement.
"Out of genuine concern for my former partner, I prefer to keep these matters discreet. What I will say is that I have never harmed any person—friend, partner, neighbor, or acquaintance. This is not who I am, and it is not my way of life. Violence has never been my path, and it never will be. Once the police reviewed the materials, and after a very quick hour-long questioning, I returned home to my close friends. I was not arrested, nor was I placed under house arrest. I was out and enjoying myself yesterday."
Buskila was detained on Friday due to WhatsApp messages containing phrases subject to interpretation, such as "I will not leave you alone." During questioning, he denied threatening his former partner and was subsequently released under restrictive conditions. A statement on his behalf noted: "I trust the police."
This is not the first time Buskila has faced such allegations; in January 2006, he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his then-partner before being released.
