Man Indicted for Assaulting Wife in Front of Their Son in Jerusalem
The Jerusalem District police prosecution unit has filed an indictment against a 29-year-old man for assaulting his wife. According to the charges, the defendant punched his spouse and dragged her while their minor son witnessed the violence.
The police prosecution unit of the Jerusalem District filed an indictment today, Wednesday, against a 29-year-old resident of East Jerusalem for assaulting his spouse and causing actual bodily harm. The arrest followed a report received by the police emergency center regarding a violent incident between the couple, after which the suspect was interrogated at the Oz police station.
According to the indictment, during a heated argument, the defendant entered the bedroom where his wife was staying, accompanied by their minor son. A verbal altercation ensued, involving an exchange of insults. The charges state that the defendant then began punching the woman in the face and head, knocking her off the bed. He subsequently grabbed her by the hair and dragged her toward the entrance of the house, all in the presence of their minor son. The complainant attempted to defend herself to distance him. As a result of the assault, the woman sustained injuries to her hand, along with swelling and bruising on her face. She required medical treatment and was evacuated to the hospital. Following the investigation, authorities decided to proceed with the indictment.
