Jezreel Valley College Launches Northern Israel's First VR Media Room
Jezreel Valley Academic College is launching northern Israel's first VR media room, combining cutting-edge technology with practical communication studies.

The Jezreel Valley Academic College is breaking new ground in media education by establishing the first virtual reality (VR) room in northern Israel. This technological leap aims to enhance both academic research and practical training for hundreds of communication students and faculty members.
During a tour of the northern campus, visitors can observe the VR facility in its final stages of preparation alongside a newly upgraded television studio equipped with advanced routing systems, teleprompters, and green screen capabilities. "Over the past year, we have invested tens of thousands of shekels into upgrading our studios," says Hezi Navon, manager of the media center. "Compared to other academic institutions, you will not see equipment of this caliber elsewhere."
The curriculum emphasizes visual storytelling tailored to modern digital platforms like TikTok and Instagram, ensuring students graduate with robust portfolios. Dr. Ruth Avidar, head of the Department of Communication, highlights the integration of professional workshops with rigorous academic theory. She notes that the rise of artificial intelligence makes critical thinking more crucial than ever, helping students discern truth from misinformation in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Students also praise the hands-on approach. Ariel Finish and Omer Shabat, student staff members at the media center, emphasize that the high-end equipment mirrors real-world industry standards, preparing them effectively for professional careers in media production, podcasting, and beyond.
