A symbolic protest took place Thursday morning in Jerusalem, as activists renamed Salah ad-Din Street to "War of Revival Heroes Street." Eliyahu Libman, whose son Elyakim fell during the October 7 attacks, led the initiative alongside supporters, posting new street signs.

Libman, a candidate for the Noam party, explained that honoring a historical conqueror of Jerusalem validates the conquest itself. The group is now demanding that the municipality officially adopt the name change.

Simultaneously, MK Avi Maoz, leader of the Noam party, sent an official letter to Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, urging the municipal naming committee to approve the street renaming.

The Jerusalem Municipality rejected the initiative, stating that while it deeply honors the heroes of the war, it does not engage in politically motivated renaming and has no intention of changing existing street names.
