"I have killed Jews in the past and I will do it again": New report reveals scale of antisemitism in the UK

Data from the organization monitoring antisemitism in the UK reveals a sharp increase in incidents, with 1,926 cases recorded between January and June 2026. A Jewish organization reported that nearly 2,000 antisemitic incidents were documented in the first six months of the year following the war in Iran and the stabbings in Golders Green.

According to a report by Sky News, assaults, arsons, and threats were among the incidents documented by the Community Security Trust (CST), with the total number of assaults rising by one-fifth compared to the first half of last year.

Among the cases described in the report is a Jewish couple attacked in North Manchester by seven teenagers who threw stones and branches while attempting to tear off their religious clothing. In another instance, a Jewish father who confronted a man shouting at his family was told:

"I will kill you. I have killed Jews in the past and I will do it again."

Another case involved a colleague who told a Jewish person that Jews were behind the September 11, 2001, attacks and that she would be happy if Israel were wiped off the map. In another incident, several Jewish organizations received an email celebrating the Golders Green attacks, stating, "There is nothing wrong with antisemitism."

Following the stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green, North London, in April, the CST recorded its highest daily number of antisemitic incidents for the year to date. A total of 71 incidents were recorded in the three days following the April 29 stabbings, 16 of which referred directly to the attack.

In the week following February 28—the date Israel and the USA began their war in Iran—there was a 71% jump in antisemitic incidents in the UK compared to the previous week, rising from 52 to 89, according to the CST.

The organization also noted a series of alleged arsons carried out at Jewish sites in London, including four community ambulances, during the first months of the year. The CST defines an antisemitic incident as any malicious act directed against Jews, organizations, or property that shows evidence of an antisemitic motive, language, or damage.

According to the CST, the region with the highest number of antisemitic incidents reported in the first six months of 2026 was Greater London with 994 cases. In Greater Manchester, 222 incidents were recorded, while Scotland saw 76. Hertfordshire reported 73 incidents, West Yorkshire 64, Essex 58, and Northumbria 39. The CST documented 135 assaults during the first half of the year—the highest total in this category ever reported to the organization.

Other offenses included 15 cases of distributing antisemitic literature, 126 threats, 77 cases of damage and desecration, and 1,572 cases of abusive behavior. Of the 77 cases of damage and desecration, seven involved arson or attempted arson, police reported.
