"I did something good": The historic honor received by Keren Peles in Argentina
During a tour of a veteran Jewish institution in Argentina, Keren Peles was granted a historic gesture and invited to sign the official guestbook alongside the country's greatest past leaders.
The creator and singer Keren Peles, one of the most prominent figures in Israeli music, received a moving gesture of historical weight during a visit to the veteran Jewish-Zionist school "Sholom Aleijem" in Buenos Aires. While touring the institution's management office, Peles was invited to sign the school's official guestbook. In a photo from the event, she added with a smile: "The principal is cute."
This gesture is deeply symbolic, as the ancient guestbook serves as a historical archive containing the signatures of the country's most prominent leaders, including former prime ministers and presidents Golda Meir, Yitzhak Rabin, and Shimon Peres. Peles described the magnitude of the occasion in a post on Instagram:
"I signed the book alongside Golda Meir, Yitzhak Rabin, and Shimon Peres. I must have done something good in this life."
The invitation to sign on the same page as these figures testifies to her unique cultural status as a national treasure.
The visit to the school was held as part of a tour and masterclasses that Peles is conducting in Argentina. Alongside the historic moment, the trip was accompanied by an amusing incident when she arrived at an isolated house in a snowy forest clearing and shared with her fans:
"Two hundred shekels a night, and this whole thing is yours. I want to describe this journey because you never know, maybe this is the last journey," she added with humor, quickly reassuring her followers: "Two smurfs and a hitman can have a fun night here. Just kidding, don't worry. My kids are following here."
