Head coach Dimitrios Itoudis has led Hapoel Tel Aviv to an impressive start in the EuroLeague despite early pressure and skepticism surrounding the team. Following a challenging conclusion to the previous season, which ended with injuries and a missed domestic title, Itoudis entered the current campaign with something to prove.

After early defeats in the Supercup against Maccabi Tel Aviv and in the EuroLeague against Bayern Munich, the Greek tactician quickly stabilized the squad. Hapoel responded with six wins in their next seven EuroLeague matches, securing statement victories over Panathinaikos on the road and Anadolu Efes in Bulgaria, while new additions like Elijah Bryant and Antonio Blakeney have flourished.

Despite the continental success, Itoudis faces ongoing criticism over the lack of playing time for local Israeli players in the EuroLeague. With full backing from club owner Ofer Yanai and management, Itoudis remains firmly focused on reaching the top six in the EuroLeague, utilizing every professional resource available to achieve the club's ambitious goals.
