ITA Airways is significantly expanding its operations on the route between Tel Aviv and Rome, announcing that starting October 25, 2026, it will operate three daily flights between the two cities. Following a long period of reduced flight availability due to the ongoing security situation, the Italian airline is scaling up services using modern Airbus 321 NEO aircraft featuring a three-class cabin configuration.

Flight Schedule and Aircraft Configuration

Under the new schedule, three daily departures will operate from Ben Gurion Airport to Rome's Fiumicino Airport. Flight AZ809 will depart at 5:15 and land at 8:05, flight AZ815 will leave at 8:30 and arrive at 11:20, and flight AZ807 will take off at 14:30, landing in Rome at 17:20.

In the reverse direction, three daily flights will also operate. Flight AZ806 will depart Rome at 9:15 and land in Tel Aviv at 13:35, AZ812 will leave at 16:00 and arrive at 20:20, and the third flight, AZ810, will take off at 22:50 and land in Israel at 03:10 the following day.

The Airbus 321 NEO aircraft deployed on the route offer enhanced comfort across three distinct travel classes. The business class cabin is equipped with leather seats that recline into a fully flat bed. Premium economy features a separate cabin with 12 wider, reclining seats, while economy class provides a personal touch screen entertainment system for every passenger.

Pricing and Market Competition

ITA Airways has also published starting round-trip fares from Tel Aviv through Rome to various European and international destinations. Fares to Rome start at $282, Venice at $243, and Milan at $244.

For long-haul destinations, New York is offered starting at $747 and Miami at $842. In Asia, ITA Airways lists Bangkok starting at $918, Tokyo at $869, and New Delhi at $780.

Market checks regarding competing airlines on the Rome route indicate that ITA is not necessarily the cheapest option available. For early November, round-trip flights with Wizz Air were found starting at $117, Israir starting at $202, Tus Airways starting at $312, and Blue Bird starting at $327. Meanwhile, El Al reported no available economy class seats for the beginning of November.
