Israel Railways announces temporary closure of several northern stations
Starting this Thursday, 12 train stations in northern Israel will be temporarily closed for essential infrastructure upgrades. Find out how train schedules will be affected and how to utilize free shuttle services.
Israel Railways is upgrading track infrastructure to enhance service and travel safety. Essential infrastructure work, critical for operational safety, will be carried out in the Zevulun area. The project has been scheduled for the summer, when demand for train travel is lower compared to the rest of the year.
During the work period, from Thursday, August 20, to Saturday, August 22, 2026, the following changes will apply:

Trains on the Modi'in Center – Nahariya line (including night trains) will operate only between Modi'in Center and Haifa Center HaShmona.

Trains on the Be'er Sheva Center – Karmiel/Nahariya line will operate only between Be'er Sheva Center and Haifa Center HaShmona.

Service on the Haifa Hof HaCarmel – Karmiel line and the Atlit – Beit She'an line will be suspended.
The stations of Nahariya, Akko, Ahihud, Karmiel, Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Haim, Hutzot HaMifratz, Merkazit HaMifratz, Yokneam-Kfar Yehoshua, Migdal HaEmek-Kfar Baruch, Afula, and Beit She'an will be temporarily closed.
Israel Railways will provide free shuttle services, and regular bus lines will be reinforced to accommodate passengers. Train traffic is scheduled to return to normal on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 4:00 AM. Passengers are advised to check for updates on the Israel Railways website, app, customer service center, or official WhatsApp channel.
