Israel Eliminated Operative Who Suspected Pager Plot Ahead of 2024 Operation

Ahead of the 2024 pager operation, Israel eliminated a Hezbollah operative who grew suspicious of the covert plan. According to Channel 12 journalist Amit Segal, the revelation was cleared for publication following the release of the documentary 'Paging Hezbollah' in late October.

In remarks made during the operation by then-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to Segal—which were initially censored at the time—Gallant addressed the critical juncture. 'In the first week of August, it turns out that someone suspected the pagers,' Gallant recounted. 'I less want to get into details, but look at the list of the eliminated because we eliminated him, alongside someone else, under various pretexts.'

The 93-minute documentary focuses on the prolonged infiltration of Hezbollah's supply chain, a 15-year process that intensified following the October 7, 2023 attacks. The film features archive footage, news reports, and interviews with senior security officials from Israel and the United States, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Mossad chief David Barnea.
