Toyota and Tesla Lead Israeli Auto Market in First Two-Thirds of Year
Israel's automotive market data for January through September shows Toyota leading overall sales, Tesla dominating electric vehicles, and Chery emerging as the largest automotive group.

The Israeli automotive market is wrapping up the first two-thirds of the year with clear conclusions: the best-selling electric car is not Chinese, market dominance still belongs to a Japanese manufacturer, and Korean and Chinese brands are fiercely battling for the top spots. According to data from the Ministry of Transport covering vehicle registrations from January to September, Toyota leads the market with 29,745 cars delivered.
Market Leaders and Group Dominance
Toyota's figures include both direct imports by Union Motors and indirect imports, making it the only Japanese brand in the top five. In second place is Jaecoo with 28,121 registrations. While importer Colmobil groups Omoda and Jaecoo together, Ministry of Transport data separates them, showing Omoda lagging far behind with 4,249 deliveries. Chery itself holds third place with 25,383 deliveries, making the Chery group the largest by sales volume in Israel.
"The Ministry of Transport data provides a comprehensive picture of actual registrations, including parallel imports and specific market dynamics that association data often misses."
Electric Vehicle Trends
In the electric vehicle segment, Tesla remains the best-selling electric car in Israel with 4,980 deliveries. Tesla's quarterly-driven shipping schedule saw about 1,800 cars delivered in the final month of the quarter alone. XPeng follows closely in second place for electric vehicles with 4,730 units delivered. Meanwhile, brands such as EVEASY, Seres, and Skywell recorded zero deliveries, raising concerns about their future in the Israeli market.
