Israel Prepares for October 27 Elections Amid Strict Ballot Guidelines
As Israelis prepare for the October 27 elections, officials are reminding voters of strict ballot rules to prevent thousands of potential vote disqualifications.

With less than 48 hours until the October 27 elections, millions of Israelis are preparing to cast their ballots. However, election officials warn that improper voting procedures could result in thousands of disqualified votes, echoing the 29,851 ballots invalidated during the November 2022 elections.
Common Pitfalls and Disqualification Rules
To ensure every vote counts, voters must strictly follow ballot guidelines. Placing two different party slips in a single envelope results in immediate disqualification. Conversely, inserting up to three identical slips of the same party is permitted, with extra slips simply ignored, while four or more identical slips invalidate the vote. Only official ballots provided inside the polling station are valid; homemade, photocopied, or street-distributed slips are strictly prohibited.
If a party's official slips run out, voters may use a blank slip provided at the polling station, writing the official party letters or name using blue pen only. Any extraneous markings, signatures, or drawings on the ballot or envelope compromise voter secrecy and lead to disqualification.
Validated Lists and Special Cases
The Central Elections Committee published the complete roster of approved party lists for the upcoming 26th Knesset elections, including major contenders such as Likud led by Benjamin Netanyahu, BeYachad led by Naftali Bennett, The Democrats led by Yair Golan, and Yisrael Beytenu led by Avigdor Lieberman.
