Israel Katz Sanctions Coral Oil Over Fuel Transfers to Hezbollah
Defense Minister Israel Katz sanctioned Coral Oil for supplying fuel to Hezbollah-linked firm Al-Amana. The UK-registered company is owned by Lebanon's Yamin family.

Defense Minister Israel Katz has imposed strict sanctions on the energy company Coral Oil following the transfer of approximately 130,000 liters of diesel and gasoline to Al-Amana, a fuel company owned by Hezbollah.
Targeting Hezbollah's Supply Chain
The sanction was enacted through the National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing (NBCTF) within the Ministry of Defense as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the economic infrastructure of the terrorist organization. According to defense officials, Al-Amana was officially designated as a terrorist entity by the NBCTF in 2020. This fuel transfer exposes a critical link in Hezbollah's operational supply chain, where commercial entities supply resources utilized for logistical and combat needs. Ministry officials explained that the fuel is used to transport weaponry, power generators, and sustain underground infrastructure.
Corporate Structure and Ownership
Although Coral Oil is registered in the United Kingdom, it is owned by the Lebanese holding company A. Yamin Group S.A.L. Financial reports indicate that the company's business operations are conducted through its branch in Lebanon. The firm is tied to a broad commercial network managed by the Yamin family. Brothers Oscar, Antonio, and Edgar Yamin have served as directors since January 2017, overseeing general management, financial strategy, and supplier relations respectively. Until November 2025, Coral Oil was held directly by Fortuna, an Isle of Man-registered entity, before ownership was fully transferred to the Lebanese holding company.
Expanding the Economic Warfare
The sanction against Coral Oil highlights a broader campaign led by the NBCTF and security agencies against Hezbollah's economic backers. While refined petroleum products remain legitimate commercial goods, supplying them to a terrorist-owned entity directly aids military operations. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the strategy targets not only direct affiliates but also commercial suppliers enabling the group's continued aggression.
