Israel National Team Travels to Hungary to Prepare for Ireland Clash
Following a tough match against Austria, the Israeli national team traveled to Debrecen, Hungary, to prepare for Sunday's game against Ireland, backed by federation leadership.
Deeply disappointed yet self-believing ahead of upcoming matches, the Israeli national team travels today (Friday) from Austria to Hungary, settling in Debrecen ahead of Sunday's clash against Ireland.
Despite the disappointment, IFA Chairman Shino Zuaretz encouraged the coaching staff led by Ran Ben Shimon and the players last night. "It's done and over with. Tomorrow is a new day. We are looking forward to the match against Ireland," Zuaretz told the squad.
From coach Ran Ben Shimon's perspective, he was satisfied with how the team positioned and defended during most of the second half. Ben Shimon is convinced more could have been achieved in attack, but once Said Abu Farchi was sent off and the team was left shorthanded, coping with Austrian pressure and launching counter-attacks became extremely difficult.
Players left the stadium for the hotel deeply disappointed. Everyone rallied around Said Abu Farchi, who told them, "I've celebrated many goals like this with the Olympic team and never received a yellow card for it."
Attention now turns to the match against Ireland. The national team will welcome Gabi Kanichowsky today, who has a high chance of starting on Sunday. Tai Baribo is also expected to feature in the starting XI, alongside possibly Eli Dasa.
Eliel Peretz received widespread praise for a strong performance, particularly in the first half, battling until he requested a substitution following an early yellow card. The team believes Oscar Gloukh and Manor Solomon will be more dominant in the home match in Debrecen.
