Fuel prices across Israel are set to rise significantly at midnight, reaching 7.85 NIS per liter following a new decree signed by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. The updated pricing will remain in effect until the end of the month, marking a monthly record high for consumers.

Under the newly signed ministerial order, the fuel tax reduction is scaled back to just 0.50 NIS from the previous full-shekel relief. The adjustment puts an end to recent price fluctuations that briefly saw rates drop to 7.35 NIS per liter over the weekend following a temporary 0.42 NIS cut.

Expanding Electric Vehicle Infrastructure

In parallel with fuel price updates, the Planning Administration and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure are advancing regulatory incentives to accelerate the deployment of ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations at gas stops.

The National Planning and Building Council approved an update to National Master Plan 18, authorizing up to 100 square meters of additional building rights for electrical rooms, transformers, and switching facilities at stations hosting at least five fast-charging points.

Authorities indicated that these facilities may also be permitted within enclosed interchange areas to expand charging network availability. The updated master plan aims to align traditional refueling infrastructure with growing technological shifts and surging demand for electric mobility.
