Iran Details Conditions for Reopening Strait of Hormuz in Talks With U.S. Envoy

Iranian state television reported that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly after Witkoff insisted on holding the meeting.

According to the source, Iran agreed to Witkoff's request to present its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. envoy was also updated on Tehran's official positions during the session.

Iranian television stated that the regime demands the immediate lifting of the naval blockade and the immediate release of all frozen Iranian assets as conditions for reopening the strait.

An additional condition presented was the end of the war across all fronts of the Iranian axis. Tehran is thus linking the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to a broad regional ceasefire, including the Lebanese arena.
