Iran has launched dozens of weekly drone and missile attacks against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, according to confidential data shared by a senior Western security official. For weeks, Iranian media reported explosions near the sea, which have now been attributed to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Strategic Maritime Threats

Data indicates that since August, Iran has initiated roughly 30 drone strikes and ten missile attacks weekly against commercial shipping. At least four commercial vessels have sustained damage over the recent ten-day period, while British naval monitoring groups report 13 damaged ships since September 10, primarily oil tankers.

"We are preventing them from passing, but for some time America has not been reacting," an IRGC spokesperson stated in state media.

Economic Impact and US Response

Despite ongoing attacks, crude oil exports are approaching pre-conflict levels, aided by US military escorts and Omani territorial waters transits. Analysts suggest the lack of direct US military retaliation reflects the administration's desire to manage the protracted conflict.
