iPhone 18 Pro Max Charges 0-100% in 55 Minutes With 52W Peak Power

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro Max has achieved a full 0% to 100% battery charge in just 55 minutes, according to a new test video published by Xiaobai's Tech Reviews and highlighted by Ice Universe. This marks a significant improvement over the previous generation, as the iPhone 17 Pro Max required 81 minutes for a full charge, cutting the process down by 26 minutes.

The speed enhancement is also noticeable at the start of the charging cycle. During the testing, the iPhone 18 Pro Max reached 50% capacity in 15 minutes, compared to approximately 20 minutes for the iPhone 17 Pro models. Apple's smaller iPhone 18 Pro is expected to offer similar charging times.

During the first 12 minutes of testing, the iPhone 18 Pro Max recorded a peak charging power of 52 watts. By comparison, a separate test by ChargerLAB last year showed the iPhone 17 Pro Max reaching a peak power output of 36 watts. As with other devices, the power output drops later in the cycle to reduce heat generation.

While overnight charging benefits little from these shorter times, quick daytime top-ups are vastly improved, with a 15-minute connection providing half of the battery capacity. Achieving maximum speeds requires a compatible charger delivering 60 watts or more with Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS) support.
