185 Million Shekel Investment: New Arts School Opens in Tel Aviv
The Tel Aviv municipality is launching a modern educational institution in the south of the city named after the late actress and director Ronit Elkabetz. The project aims to foster creativity and ensure equal educational opportunities for local students.
With the start of the upcoming school year, the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality will open the doors of the new secondary school for the arts named after the late creator, actress, and director Ronit Elkabetz. The modern institution was established in the heart of the Kfar Shalem neighborhood with an investment of 185 million shekels, spanning 8,600 square meters across five floors.
The school includes 42 classrooms, 6 special education classrooms, laboratories, technology and art rooms, a library, an auditorium, and sports fields. Its establishment was planned with a vision to foster creativity, excellence, and innovation, providing the younger generation with the tools to succeed in a changing world.
The establishment of the institution in the south of the city is a central part of the municipal policy to upgrade educational infrastructure and create true equality of opportunity. The Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Ron Huldai, stated:
«We are excited to open the new school named after Ronit Elkabetz in the Kfar Shalem neighborhood. The location was not chosen by chance, as we aim to provide students living in the southern part of the city with accessible and high-quality arts education.»
He added: «The municipality has set itself the goal of giving all students more opportunities, a safe learning environment, and the tools to develop and realize their potential. I am confident that this school will be another layer in achieving this goal.»
This project joins a broad development momentum in the municipal education system, driven by the continuous growth in the number of students. Recent efforts include the inauguration of a new elementary school at Kikar HaMedina, the start of construction on the Meir Shalev High School in the city center, and deep renovations at schools such as Lady Davis and Alumot. Alongside these, new sports halls are being inaugurated and dozens of projects for upgrading school courtyards are underway across the city.
