"Brought into Israel from the Palestinian Authority": Recall for mineral water brand
Ministry of Health inspectors discovered that bottles of "Alaska - natural mineral water" were brought into Israel from the Palestinian Authority territories without permits. The production and safety conditions of the water are unknown and it is not under supervision. The warning applies to all bottle sizes and all expiration dates.
The Ministry of Health has issued a public warning urging consumers to avoid "Alaska" brand mineral water. This advisory applies to all marketed bottle sizes and all expiration dates printed on the packaging.
During routine inspections conducted by the Northern District Food Service, it was discovered that these products were brought into Israel from the Palestinian Authority territories illegally and without the required permits. Consequently, the Ministry of Health warns that the production and safety conditions of this water are unknown, and the product is not under the ministry's sanitary supervision.
The warning applies to "Alaska - natural mineral water" (water treated via reverse osmosis and ozonation), attributed to the manufacturer or importer, "Ein Asia for Mineral Water." As noted, this applies to all sizes and expiration dates without exception.
The Ministry of Health advises the public not to consume these products and emphasizes the importance of purchasing food and beverages only from known sources and authorized distributors. The Food Service stated it will continue to identify cases of food being brought into Israel in violation of legal provisions. Should further violations of Israeli legislative and standardization requirements be found, the ministry will take all available measures in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
