"Injecting dangerous substances": Indictment against a mother suspected of severe abuse of her 5-year-old son
According to the indictment, the 23-year-old mother injected her 5-year-old son with dangerous substances while he was hospitalized at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, causing a significant deterioration in his condition. The investigation raised the suspicion that this was not an isolated incident and that she had harmed him in the past using medications she introduced into his body.

A resident of the eastern part of Jerusalem is accused of severe abuse of her 5-year-old son and injecting dangerous substances into his body during his hospitalization. Yesterday, Sunday, an indictment was filed against her by the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office.
The investigation was opened following a complaint received from Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where the child was hospitalized after allegedly drinking a cleaning agent. During the hospitalization, medical staff noticed an unusual deterioration in his condition that did not match his clinical status. The investigation raised the suspicion that the 23-year-old mother injected her son with prohibited and dangerous substances during his stay, thereby causing a significant decline in his health.
Investigators carried out complex investigative actions and collected evidence suggesting that this was not an isolated incident. According to the suspicion, the mother had harmed her son in the past as well, introducing medications into his body that caused medical deterioration and subsequent hospitalizations. The investigation also revealed that in the current case, she injected him with a disinfectant while he was hospitalized.
Upon completion of the investigation and the consolidation of the evidentiary infrastructure, the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed a prosecutor's statement against the suspect. Her detention was extended until July 30, 2026, at which time the prosecution is expected to file a formal indictment and a request for her detention until the end of the proceedings.
