A nine-month-old infant was critically injured on Tuesday after reportedly falling from a slide while playing in Ashkelon. The baby was evacuated unconscious while undergoing resuscitation to Barzilai Medical Center, where his pulse was restored on the way.

The incident on HaNasi Street in Ashkelon was reported to the Magen David Adom (MDA) Lachish dispatch center at 16:04. Medics and paramedics provided initial medical treatment at the scene and evacuated the infant to the hospital in critical condition.

The parents told the medical staff that the infant had fallen from a slide. According to their account, they initially drove home with the unconscious baby before calling MDA, and the response team met them there. No prominent external injuries were visible, leading to the preliminary assessment that the injury is head-related.

Senior MDA motorcycle medic Daniel Yarden recounted: "When we arrived at the scene, we were led to the infant who apparently fell from a slide during play. He was unconscious, without breathing, and without a pulse. We immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts, including compressions and ventilations, and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital while continuing resuscitation procedures."
