Indictment filed against Modiin residents for arson and grenade attacks
The Central District Attorney's Office has charged two Modiin residents for their involvement in three criminal incidents last July. The suspects were apprehended following a grenade attack in Ramat Gan, with subsequent evidence linking them to an arson in Netanya and a grenade blast in Rishon LeZion.
The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment on Wednesday against two Modiin residents in their 20s, charging them with throwing grenades at residential buildings and committing arson against an off-road vehicle. These acts occurred over an eight-day period last July.
The chain of events began on July 14, when a fragmentation grenade was thrown at a residential building in Rishon LeZion. Following the incident, an investigation was launched to identify those responsible.
A week later, on July 21, a RZR-type off-road vehicle was set on fire in Netanya. The following day, the defendants threw a stun grenade at a residential building in Ramat Gan, where they were arrested just minutes later.
Evidence and documentation collected confirmed the young men's involvement in all three incidents. Their detention has been extended multiple times, and the State Attorney's Office is now requesting that they remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
