Over the weekend, police received reports of a public disturbance and an assault on inspectors at Mi-Ami beach in Ashdod. Upon the arrival of municipal inspectors, who identified several suspects, a riot broke out, necessitating the deployment of police officers to the scene.

As the situation unfolded, a crowd gathered and began attacking the inspectors and officers who were attempting to maintain public order and detain the suspects.

Police were forced to use crowd-control measures to manage the situation. During the incident, an officer fired a warning shot after perceiving a real danger to his safety due to the violence directed at the forces on the ground.

Two suspects were arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officers and inspectors and were taken to the Ashdod station for further investigation. Several officers and inspectors sustained light injuries and received medical treatment.

Superintendent Ronen Amram, commander of the Ashdod station, stated:

"This is a serious incident of violence against police officers and inspectors who were performing their duties to maintain public order. The forces on the scene were attacked and were forced to use necessary measures to regain control of the situation and arrest those involved."
