Incident in Ashkelon: Physical Confrontation Between Inspector and Young Man

A confrontation between a municipal inspector and a young man was documented on Wednesday in Ashkelon during routine enforcement activities. According to sources involved in the incident, a police officer present at the scene was forced to intervene to separate the two.

Following the distribution of the footage on social media, the police began searching for the young man, while the municipality announced an investigation into the inspector's conduct.

The Israel Police responded: "Following the video distributed on social media, during routine enforcement activities, an inspector was attacked by the suspect. When forces sought to detain him, the suspect resisted and fled the scene. Police forces have begun operations to locate him and bring him in for questioning."

The Ashkelon Municipality stated: "The Ashkelon Municipality views the incident as it appears in the distributed footage with great severity. The municipal management is conducting an in-depth investigation into the circumstances of the case, and if it is found that there was misconduct by the inspector, the necessary disciplinary measures will be taken."
