Arson of a cafe in Ramat Gan: Three suspects arrested
The "Bandita" cafe on Uziel Street in Ramat Gan was set on fire three times in May, June, and July. Last week, police arrested three residents of Beitar Illit, aged 16, 19, and 23, in connection with the incidents.
The Crime Fighting Unit (YALP) of the Dan District has concluded its investigation into three suspects involved in the arson of the "Bandita" cafe in Ramat Gan. A prosecutor's statement has been filed, their detention has been extended, and the prosecution intends to file an indictment.
The investigation began in May following a report of an arson attack at the "Bandita" cafe on Uziel Street. The cafe was targeted again in June and a third time in early July.
Evidence gathered during the investigation led to the identification of the three suspects—residents of Beitar Illit aged 16, 19, and 23—who were arrested last week and subsequently remanded in custody.
Findings indicate that the trio acted in concert. Two days before the third arson on July 1, they rented a hotel room in Tel Aviv to prepare for the crime.
On the night of the attack, they filled a bottle with gasoline and drove to the cafe. The 23-year-old suspect waited in the vehicle while the other two exited. The 19-year-old poured the gasoline at the entrance, and the 16-year-old minor ignited it with a lighter, which he left behind at the scene. The suspects then fled. The arson caused significant damage to the cafe.
