An apparently innocent family vacation in Eilat turned into a prolonged crime spree, which ended with the filing of an indictment including 15 counts against a couple, residents of Haifa in their 30s. The affair was exposed following a series of reports received by the police regarding systematic thefts from several stores throughout the city.
From the investigation by the Eilat District Police, it emerged that the couple arrived in the city with their three children, whom they exploited for the purpose of carrying out the criminal activity. According to the charges, the parents involved their 8 and 9-year-old children in the theft acts, and even used the stroller of their baby daughter, about one year old, to hide the large amount of loot.
The total value of the property stolen during the crime spree is estimated at over 100,000 NIS. The case was solved thanks to an investigation by the police arrest team, which included collecting evidence, taking testimonies, and connecting various incidents until a solid evidentiary basis was formed.
Upon completion of the investigation, the file was transferred to the police prosecution unit in Eilat, which filed the serious indictments against the two. While the legal process is ongoing, the father was arrested and will remain in custody until the end of the proceedings against him.
