Actor, singer, and cultural icon Ili Gorlitzky passed away at the age of 91, leaving behind a rich legacy in Israeli theater, music, and arts. Born in Tel Aviv in 1935, Gorlitzky became a household name through his iconic starring role in the legendary 1964 Cameri Theatre musical King Solomon and Shalmi the Cobaker.
Gorlitzky studied at the Ironi Alef high school and joined the Cameri Theatre's dramatic school at just 17. He later became a core company member, starring in acclaimed productions such as The Good Person of Szechwan and He Walked Through the Fields. During his military service in the Central Command Troupe, he delivered memorable solo performances of classic Hebrew songs.
Following his discharge, Gorlitzky returned to the stage, cementing his status as a leading talent of his generation. His later artistic collaborations, including musical shows with Yona Atari and Yossi Banai, produced timeless Israeli cultural treasures that continue to resonate across generations.
