Actor Ilan Rosenfeld is remembered by millions of Israelis mainly for his many years of participation in the beloved show "The Pyjamas". However, Rosenfeld has revealed more than once that the payment for the show did not match the magnitude of its enormous success.

Rosenfeld admitted that in retrospect, the group could have earned much more money from "The Pyjamas". He explains: "It was hard for me to perform when behind me was a sign for a clothing store in the mall, or to perform in front of children who would go immediately after that to eat ice cream." Rosenfeld clarified to ynet: "We made less money than we were supposed to."

Regarding the royalties, he details: "I will say it like this: if I had done 'The Pyjamas' in the USA, my great-grandchildren could have lived off it. In Israel, I have to keep working and find a new job every few months. I am not complaining; I love what I do. The audience is limited, the country is small, and therefore the money is limited. I receive money from royalties."

These days, Rosenfeld is starring in the film "Hill 338", created as a tribute to the Israeli cult classic "Givat Halfon Eina Ona". Alongside the nod to the original, the film brings a new story and characters to the screen, offering a contemporary look at absurdity, friendship, and the Israeli spirit.
