Faked Conversation with Idan Raichel Sparks Online Frenzy: "You Are Crazy"
Young musician Dor Maoz captured online attention by creating a fake Instagram chat with Idan Raichel to promote his new song. The video went viral, and despite admitting it was a prank, the artist hopes it might lead to a real opportunity.
Dor Maoz, a young musician, managed to spark significant interest online thanks to a creative idea. As part of promoting a new song, he created a fake Instagram conversation with Idan Raichel in which he 'asked' for an opportunity to perform alongside him: "I am a big fan, I released a song and wanted to ask how many likes I need so that I can come perform with you at the next show? It could really help me." The video, which did not include a real appeal to the singer, quickly became viral with tens of thousands of views and hundreds of comments on TikTok.
In the fabricated conversation, Raichel even "replied" to Maoz:
"Hi champion, I liked the initiative. If the video reaches 10,000 likes and a comment from Mergui, then we have a deal."
The young musician uploaded the screenshot against the backdrop of the new song and asked for the users' help: "What are the chances? Will you help me fulfill a dream?" However, after the video gained momentum, he clarified that it was a staged conversation: "Thanks to everyone who supports and helps, you are crazy. I woke up in the morning and was in shock. Everything started without much thought and as a joke. It is important to note that the conversation in the video is not real."
Alongside this, he admitted that he hopes the virality will lead to the real thing: "Let's see how far this trend will take us. There is a chance that in the end, it will actually happen. You warmed my heart immensely, and Idan – you are the heart of the country." The warm reactions online did not take long to arrive: "Go for it, good luck," "Everyone tag Mergui," "The secret to success is courage and there is no doubt that you have a significant amount, good luck."
