Participated in holding hostages and the release "ceremony": Hamas terrorist eliminated in Gaza

The IDF announced today, Friday, that it eliminated in the Nuseirat area Tsubhi Sami Mahmoud Shakhtat, a platoon commander in the Hamas military wing. According to the army, he participated in the October 7 massacre and took part in holding many hostages throughout the war.
The strike in which Shakhtat was eliminated was carried out the day before yesterday, Wednesday, in the Nuseirat area in the central Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, Shakhtat invaded Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and was subsequently involved in holding hostages in Hamas captivity.
In November 2023, as part of Operation "Heavenly Gates," he also participated in the "ceremony" of releasing the returnees and handing them over to the Red Cross.
It was further stated that in recent times, Shakhtat attempted to advance terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli citizens, and that he was eliminated in order to remove the threat.
The IDF added that Southern Command forces are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove immediate threats.
The elimination joins a series of targeted strikes carried out by the IDF in the Gaza Strip over the last two months against Hamas operatives and commanders, including terrorists who participated in the October 7 massacre.

At the same time, the IDF also focused on officials who worked to restore Hamas's military capabilities and promote attacks. In July, the commander of the organization's UAV squad in the central camps and a senior official in the sniping array were eliminated. Last week, a company commander in the Khan Yunis Brigade was eliminated, who, according to the IDF, was engaged in training terrorists, transferring weapons, and restoring the organization's capabilities.
