IDF Investigates Shooting Incident Near Jenin
The IDF is investigating an incident on Saturday in which an IDF soldier shot a Palestinian near the village of Faqua, in the Jenin area. The Palestinian was wounded in the leg.
According to an initial investigation, an Israeli shepherd from the Zayit Gilboa farm went out to graze sheep, accompanied by a soldier providing security. At some point, the shepherd felt threatened as Palestinians from Faqua began closing in on him. The two called for IDF reinforcements from the farm.

When the reinforcement force felt threatened, a regular soldier who had recently arrived in Judea and Samaria fired into the air and then at the lower body of a Palestinian. The injured individual was evacuated to a hospital. IDF forces remain on high alert following recent deployments of regular battalions to the region.
In a separate diplomatic development, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee recently visited the Palestinian town of Turmus Ayya near Ramallah. Huckabee met with local residents, including families of U.S. citizens killed by settlers, and stated that crime and terror will face severe consequences.
