IDF Eliminates Terrorist in Samaria; Report Reveals Pre-Oct 7 Warning to Netanyahu
IDF troops eliminated a knife-wielding terrorist in Aqraba near Nablus during overnight raids, while a new report reveals PM Netanyahu received a pre-October 7 warning from the UAE president.
IDF Eliminates Terrorist in Samaria Raid
During overnight counter-terrorism operations in the Samaria region, IDF troops and Border Police forces, guided by Shin Bet intelligence, targeted several villages including Qabalan, Osarin, Aqraba, and Yatma.
In the village of Aqraba near Nablus, forces arrived to interrogate a suspect affiliated with a terrorist organization. Upon their arrival, the suspect threw a Molotov cocktail and an improvised explosive device at the troops. No Israeli casualties were reported.
In response, the forces initiated a "pressure cooker" procedure, surrounding the building from all directions before breaching it. Soldiers from the Nahal Reconnaissance Unit eliminated the terrorist inside the structure as he held a knife, intending to attack the forces. Palestinian sources identified the deceased as Abdel Karim Suleiman.
Arrests and Weapons Seizures
During the wider operation, Israeli forces arrested four wanted individuals, including three suspects involved in weapons trafficking and one terrorist planning an imminent attack. Troops questioned approximately 60 suspects during searches across 70 locations in the area, seizing ammunition, a grenade launcher, and military equipment.
Report: Netanyahu Received Pre-October 7 Warning
A new report published in the Hebrew daily Haaretz reveals that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received an explicit warning regarding planned actions by Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar just a week and a half before the October 7, 2023, attacks.
According to an investigation featured in a new book by journalists Shlomi Eldar and Ruth Yuval, titled Hostages: 843 Days of Abandonment, the warning was delivered directly by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed. The report states that Netanyahu did not brief Israeli defense chiefs about this warning.
