IDF Reservist Arrested After Over 3,000 Minor Pornography Images Found
An IDF reserve soldier from the Sharon region was arrested after investigators found over 3,000 illicit images of minors on his phone during a military police probe.
An IDF reserve soldier in his 30s from the Sharon region has been arrested following an investigation by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID). The suspect was initially probed over suspicions of privacy violations and indecent acts involving female soldiers in the IDF. During the MPCID investigation, authorities discovered more than 3,000 images containing minor pornography on his phone.
Following the alarming discovery, the military transferred the findings to the Israel Police, which launched a separate civilian investigation. The suspect was subsequently arrested and taken for questioning at the Hadera police station. During interrogation, the reservist denied the allegations, claiming the explicit files were distributed across various Telegram groups.
While the military case resulted in his release under restrictive conditions including full house arrest, the civil court handling the child exploitation material case decided to extend his detention. An IDF spokesperson stated that following suspicions of offenses against female soldiers, an MPCID investigation was opened, and due to evidence suggesting civilian-targeted offenses, the matter was duly reported to the Israel Police.
