IDF Detains Activists Near Hebron Amid Outpost Land Dispute
IDF forces detained activists near Hebron who arrived to support Palestinian residents facing land disputes and alleged violence from an outpost settler.
IDF forces detained Alon-Lee Green, co-chair of the 'Makom LeKulam' party, along with other activists near the Palestinian village of Beit Ula in the Hebron area. The activists arrived to accompany village residents in their land dispute.
The activists' arrival followed complaints of ongoing violence by Eliyahu Goldstein, son of Baruch Goldstein, who established an outpost nearby. Palestinians claim Goldstein prevents them from cultivating their lands and has used violence, including shooting at farmers.
The 'Makom LeKulam' party strongly criticized the security forces, stating that the army chose to secure the outpost rather than protect the villagers.
"The army pushes away landowners and Israeli activists," the party stated, adding that the detention will not deter their efforts.
