IDF to Introduce New Medical Profile 70 to Boost Combat Recruitment
The IDF is developing a new medical profile 70 to allow recruits previously limited to rear-line roles to serve in combat units. The initiative is being finalized by the Medical Corps and the Manpower Directorate.
The IDF is preparing to introduce a new medical profile 70, designed to allow recruits who were previously restricted to rear-line roles to qualify for combat units. The new profile, positioned between the existing 64 and 72 profiles, aims to maximize the potential of fresh recruits and expand the pool of combat personnel.
Staff work on the initiative is currently being conducted by the IDF Medical Corps and the Manpower Directorate. It is expected to mature soon and be integrated into the initial screening stages (the first draft notice, or "Tzav Rishon") when determining each recruit's military profile.
The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated in response:
"The IDF is currently engaged in staff work to examine a new medical profile, which will enable service members previously designated for rear-line roles only to integrate into a variety of combat and combat-support positions, in accordance with their medical condition and fitness as determined by the Medical Corps. This move will expand the ranks of those serving, strengthen placement compatibility, and broaden opportunities for individuals to serve as combat soldiers. Once completed and finalized, the details will be presented to the public and reflected to the recruits."
The military emphasized that it will continue to work toward maximizing manpower potential and expanding the draft circle, while maintaining strict oversight over the health of incoming recruits and tailoring solutions to both individual needs and operational requirements.
