IDF Raises Alert Level Ahead of Sensitive Dates and October Elections
The Israeli defense establishment has raised its alert level ahead of October 7 and the October 27 elections, following intelligence warnings of potential terror plots and a foiled attack involving a commercial flight.

IDF Raises Alert Level Amid Terror Threats Ahead of Elections
The Israeli defense establishment has identified heightened readiness among various terror organizations to act against Israel in the near future. Intelligence agencies have flagged two particularly sensitive dates: October 7 and the upcoming Knesset elections on October 27.
Security officials warn that terror groups may attempt symbolic attacks aimed at influencing the upcoming Israeli elections. Military intelligence indicates that threats could emanate from Hezbollah, jihadist elements in Syria, or Hamas, particularly following recent shifts in Hamas operations in the Gaza Strip.
Comprehensive Border Security and Intelligence Posture
In response to these assessments, the entire defense establishment, including the IDF and the Israel Air Force, is maintaining a very high level of preparedness along the borders. Officials stress that while there are no concrete warnings at this stage, security forces are taking zero risks given the high sensitivity of the period.
"We are fully prepared for a severe and extensive response if required," defense sources stated, noting that these concerns follow previous threats of Iranian-backed attacks abroad during the holiday season.
Investigation Into FlyDubai Pilot Attack Plot
Meanwhile, the investigation continues into the foiled terror plot involving a FlyDubai flight. According to findings, the pilot Mam al-Hamami planned to crash an airliner into Ben-Gurion Airport as an act of revenge for Gaza.
Authorities revealed that the terrorist gathered intelligence during previous visits to Israel and intended to enter the country legally before carrying out the suicide attack directly at the airport to bypass civilian interception measures. The Shin Bet is actively involved in investigating whether the pilot acted alone or under external direction.
